On Palm Sunday, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple sites across Gaza, killing at least 21 people, including children, and severely damaging Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. The hospital, run by the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, was hit predawn, damaging its emergency room and pharmacy. Over 100 patients and dozens of staff were affected, with one girl dying during an evacuation. Israel claimed it struck a Hamas command center, a claim denied by Hamas.

The health ministry declared the hospital temporarily out of service, forcing patient transfers. Strikes also hit Deir al-Balah, killing seven, including six brothers from a food charity, and Jabaliya refugee camp, where seven died, including children and women. A pregnant woman was rescued from rubble but lost her husband and daughter. Israel said it targeted over 90 Hamas-linked sites. The war, sparked by the October 7 attack, has now claimed over 50,000 Palestinian lives, mostly civilians.
