Abu Qatal Sindhi, a key figure in Lashkar-e-Taiba and a close aide of Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, has been killed in Pakistan. He was reportedly the commander of the Khureta launch pad and played a major role in orchestrating attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

Qatal masterminded the January 2023 Rajouri attack and was behind the June 9 assault on a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. Reports indicate he was eliminated by an unidentified assailant in the Dina area of Jhelum, Pakistan.

In February, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) charged Qatal, along with Sajit Jutt and Qasim, for their involvement in the Rajouri attack that claimed seven lives. The NIA revealed that these Pakistan-based handlers were responsible for recruiting and deploying LeT terrorists to target civilians, particularly minorities, and security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.
