In a rare diplomatic standoff, Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan, K.K. Wagan, was denied entry into the U.S. and subsequently deported. The incident follows a recent U.S. travel advisory warning Americans against visiting Pakistan due to security risks under President Donald Trump’s administration.

Wagan was en route to Los Angeles when U.S. immigration authorities stopped him at the airport. Despite possessing a valid visa and required travel documents, he was deported to his last port of departure due to an immigration objection, as confirmed by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Diplomatic sources indicate that U.S. officials flagged his case over controversial visa references, though the precise reason remains unclear. The matter has now reached Pakistan’s top diplomatic leadership, with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Aamna Baloch being briefed. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has tasked its consulate in Los Angeles with investigating the situation further.
