'THE JOURNEY TO MY RUNWAY' - BY AUTHOR HORENTIA CORNELISSEN
The Journey to my runway is a Nonfiction Biography, my very own memoir and it's based on reality. I was 8 when I started my model career, my mom entered me in competitions, community events, townships, and in church. Everything I’ve done during childhood had something to do with fashion. I was the kid who would take loose material and make something out of it. I would open my mom’s closet after I had my bath at night and put on the shoes and takes her bags and model up and down pretending like I’m at some glamorous event! I use to play with my friends and stack planks & crates together, I created my own runway. I took a few pages of A4 Paper and wrote down my address and stuck it on the street poles in my street to invite people to come and see the fashion show, hosted by me and my friends. I've always been drawn to creativity and uniqueness.
When I was in primary school I kept a small book in my backpack and I used to pass it on to my classmates, and I made them write a little message in it, I used to stick pictures in that small little book, pictures that I’ve cut from magazines, fashion related. It was always a nice feeling for me to open that book and just read it constantly..it was like food to my soul to open up and page through it, my joy and happiness. Somehow it was like my own magazine. I never thought that someday I would become an author and a model, plus be featured in magazines all around the world. I just had a very calm feeling that I was living each and every day in my purpose, as years went by I just couldn’t sleep one night and I woke up. I took my pen and a stack of old papers and I wrote my whole life story on it, for 5 months every night I would write a few pages. When I finished my story I went on my knees and prayed to God, saying thanks for all that I’ve been through in life! Today my book is in 14 countries and internationally advertised on Amazon.com and so many other platforms as well. Everything that was written, I’m living it all as we speak it’s like a testimony that was manifested…..The Journey to my runway written by Horentia Cornelissen!

THE JOURNEY OF AUTHOR HORENTIA CORNELISSEN (IN HER OWN WORDS)
Writing has given me such a different vision of life! I’m more outspoken, improving myself, and elevating myself. I'm so accurate on certain things and I always set my attention on how to make the best out of circumstances. I learn every day, knowledge, experience, and sharing your thoughts! Putting my story on paper boosted me to become more than just an author. I’m more ambitious and consistent. I'm basically fulfilling my career and every day I’m adding a piece to the puzzle. I can honestly say that being an author is building me as a person to be the best version of myself.
I’ve been traveling since 2002, I went to France one of the biggest capitals of fashion. I lived abroad for a few years and I’ve traveled the world. Since such a young age I had to move on my own and it made me so independent. I studied foreign languages in tertiary studies, writing in different languages as well as constantly speaking it! I didn’t have much of a choice cos I needed to be understood, the same goes for people understanding my side of the story. When I count my blessings I can assure you that I’ll probably need a bigger book cos I feel like a plant that gets water all the time, my growth comes from rain. I had hard times during my journey to becoming who I am today but I’m so thankful for my struggle, cos the girl that went on a plane in 2002 is completing her journey walking on a Runway for one of the world’s biggest fashion events in September 2023 new york fashion week! I’ve worked my way up till here and God has led me on this path years ago already… it’s simply discipline and commitment that made me stay in lane. I prayed so hard and worked even harder to be successful.
The writing field has motivated me to reveal more of myself. I’m in the process of writing a movie script to pitch for future reference. I'm always thinking one step ahead. I know that this is actually just the start of a brand new chapter, going from author to Screenwriter. I'm so privileged to think that somewhere out there there are people that would do anything to be in my shoes. Life is a journey, and we all have our own destiny. I've always wanted to have many titles next to my name, and now that I’ve achieved them. I’m more focused on delivering the work and making a difference than having them all with no purpose at all. I wrote my book for the youth of our entire world plus many generations to come, to never give up on their dreams….a leader has the authority to take it to the next level, and the mindset to keep going…that’s what leaves trails for the next one to follow…I always say “Leaders become legends”!
