In a major security blunder, top Trump administration officials mistakenly shared U.S. war plans in a Signal chat that included a journalist, just before launching an attack on Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis. The White House confirmed the incident after The Atlantic exposed the details.

Journalist Jeffrey Goldberg was unexpectedly added to a Signal group named “Houthi PC small group,” where national security adviser Mike Waltz directed his deputy to coordinate U.S. actions. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth allegedly posted sensitive attack details. The National Security Council (NSC) acknowledged the breach but insisted it posed no security threat.
Democratic lawmakers condemned the leak, with Senator Elizabeth Warren calling it "blatantly illegal." Despite criticism, the White House reaffirmed confidence in Trump’s security team. The incident has raised legal concerns, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is expected to address the matter in an upcoming Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.
