Venezuela has agreed to restart repatriation flights for deported nationals from the U.S. after a temporary suspension earlier this month. Jorge Rodríguez, head of Venezuela’s national assembly, announced the decision, stating that the first flight would depart on Sunday to ensure the safe return of Venezuelan migrants.

The repatriation program was halted on March 8 after the U.S. revoked Chevron’s license to export Venezuelan oil, escalating tensions. However, both nations have now reached an understanding, allowing flights to resume.

Rodríguez criticized the past deportation of 250 Venezuelans to a high-security prison in El Salvador under the Trump administration, insisting that migration is not a crime. He vowed to continue efforts to repatriate all Venezuelans in need. Later, President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the initiative, emphasizing the protection of migrants' human rights and their right to return home.
