Dressing appropriately for a job interview is key to making a strong first impression. Your outfit not only reflects your professionalism but also communicates your attention to detail, confidence, and cultural fit for the company.


For corporate roles such as finance, law, or consulting, opt for classic business formal attire. Men should wear a well-fitted suit in neutral tones like navy, black, or grey, paired with a crisp white shirt and a conservative tie. Women can choose a tailored pantsuit or skirt suit, complemented by closed-toe shoes and minimal accessories.

For creative or tech roles, business casual may be more appropriate. A smart blazer over a collared shirt or blouse, paired with chinos or a knee-length skirt, strikes the right balance between professional and relaxed. You still want to appear polished, so avoid overly casual items like jeans, t-shirts, or sneakers unless you’re certain it’s acceptable for that specific company culture.


Grooming matters too—ensure your clothes are clean, wrinkle-free, and fit well. Hair should be neat, and makeup (if worn) should be subtle and professional. Avoid overpowering perfume or cologne.
